Reiki? Me First.
I didn’t know either. Reiki isn’t something I do — it’s something I allow. It moves through me, not from me. And it heals me just as much as it helps anyone else. That’s kind of the whole point. It’s not reserved for yogis, gurus, or people who own more crystals than coffee mugs.Reiki is for everyone with a heartbeat and a body that remembers. It’s gentle. It’s quiet. It’s powerful. And it works.

Before we begin
Welcome to the Studio of Light
Welcome back to the Studio of Light. This is my personal passion project, and maybe yours too. Every Transmission is part reflection, part invitation, and part reminder that we’re all energy, we’re all light, and we’re all just remembering how to heal ourselves… one layer at a time.
This week, it’s all hands on deck. Literally.
The first time I tried Reiki, it was a gift. A full one-hour session from someone who probably had a lot more faith in it than I did. I had no clue what I was walking into — I thought it might be some kind of energetic massage. I left that session curious, but not convinced. And honestly? Reiki didn’t really circle back into my life until years later.
But then... it started showing up everywhere. Friends, mentors, people I respected deeply — they were becoming Reiki practitioners. One of them was someone I trusted with my whole heart and healing. That changed everything.
In 2023, I signed up for Levels 1 and 2. I didn’t do it to open a practice or to become anyone’s healer. I did it because I knew, deep down, something in me was asking to be healed — and Reiki answered.
Here’s the wildest part: giving Reiki to someone else? That’s where I felt it most. Every session I offered, I received. Every time I moved energy, I felt mine move too. Being a conduit — not a source — changed the way I understood healing altogether.
I’m not done. I was meant to finish my Master Instructor training twice now, but life had other ideas. The next step is happening in November. Until then, I’m still showing up, still learning, and still letting the energy move through me.
Because it turns out:
I didn’t need to believe in energy work.
I just needed to feel it.

This week’s theme:
“You don’t need to believe in Reiki
for Reiki to believe in you.”
I didn’t know Reiki would become part of my daily life — but it has.
I didn’t know it would feel this personal, this peaceful, or this potent.
And I definitely didn’t know it would be something I could offer others, just by opening my hands and allowing the energy to move.
The first time I tried Reiki was over 20 years ago. I had zero clue what I was signing up for. I thought maybe it was massage. Maybe yoga. Maybe a weird offshoot of Chinese medicine. (Spoiler alert: it’s none of those.)
But I walked away from that first session with a strange feeling that the practitioner knew things — things my body had been quietly holding for years. Pain. Trauma. Grief. And even though I didn’t understand what had just happened… it stayed with me.
Fast-forward a couple of decades, and I found myself deep in a healing journey. My body was exhausted. My heart was holding more than I realized. And my curiosity about energy work had become a full-on calling. Reiki came back into my life — this time, not as a gift someone gave me… but as a gift I gave myself.
What shocked me the most?
It wasn’t dramatic. It wasn’t flashy.
It was subtle. Gentle. And real.
When I’m practicing Reiki — especially with someone else — I feel it more clearly than anything else.
Heat. Vibration. Emotion. Colour.
It’s not about “doing” something. It’s about letting it happen.
And here’s the truthbomb:
You don’t need to believe in Reiki for Reiki to believe in you.
You don’t need to own a crystal collection or chant in Sanskrit.
You just need a body. A heartbeat. A willingness to be still.
I’m not a guru. I’m not a healer. I’m just a conduit.
And the more I allow this energy to flow through me, the more I feel it healing me, too.
If you’ve ever wondered what Reiki is or if it’s for you… this is your sign.
Reach out. Let’s talk. Or better yet: just feel. Energy knows what to do.
What I’m sitting with this week…
✨ You don’t have to believe in energy for energy to believe in you.
✨ Healing doesn’t have to be loud to be life-changing.
✨ Sometimes, your hands know exactly what your heart’s been holding.

Category: Energy Healing

Reiki is an Energy Healing modality.
Reiki (pronounced ray-key) is a Japanese practice that means “universal life energy.”
It’s not a belief system — it’s a method for working with energy that already exists within and around us.
In a Reiki session, the practitioner acts as a conduit — not a source — for that energy to move where it’s needed. The body does the rest. It’s a little like opening a window in a stuffy room: the air clears, the energy shifts, and things soften.
Developed by Dr. Mikao Usui in the early 1900s, Reiki has since grown into a global practice — but its heart hasn’t changed: gentle, intuitive touch (or intention) that supports emotional, physical, and spiritual healing. It’s not massage. It’s not magic. But it’s deeply real — and often deeply felt.
Sometimes you’ll feel tingling, heat, movement, or emotions.
Sometimes you’ll feel nothing… until later.
Either way, Reiki doesn’t force — it invites.
And for me, it’s been one of the most unexpectedly powerful tools in my healing journey — not just giving it, but receiving it in real time, every time I offer it.
Mini-habit to try this week
Give Me One Minute: Breath Reset
This one’s not about breath. It’s not about movement.
It’s about energy. Stillness.
And trusting that your hands already know where to land.
Try this when you’re feeling scattered, tense, overwhelmed, or just in need of a gentle pause:
1️⃣ Sit or lie down somewhere quiet. (Even 30 seconds in your parked car counts.)
2️⃣ Rub your hands together for a few seconds to activate your energy.
3️⃣ Place one hand on your heart, one on your belly.
4️⃣ Close your eyes. No pressure, no agenda. Just notice.
5️⃣ Stay there for a minute. Breathe if it feels right. Cry if it comes.
6️⃣ Whisper this if it helps: “Energy flows where it’s needed. I allow healing now.”
This is the beginning of self-Reiki.
Not complicated. Not mystical. Just a moment to let energy move the way it wants to — without force, without fixing, without fear.
That’s Reiki.
That’s GMOM.

From the studio desk
Reiki has woven itself into my daily life - quietly, gently, and without demanding any spotlight.
It’s not a hobby. It’s not a trend.
It’s my way back home—my way of holding space for healing, presence, and quiet transformation.
Guess what? I’m manifesting a cozy little treatment studio by the sea, bringing together Reiki, meditation, and breathwork in one intentional place. It’s not ready just yet, but it’s humming with possibility—exactly how energy behaves when it's allowed to flow.
In the meantime, I’ll be offering in-person and virtual Reiki sessions on a sliding scale for accessibility between now and October 31st. If you’ve been curious to try a session, this is a beautiful window to explore. Just reach out for details—I’d be honoured to hold space for you.
And yes, I’m on track to receive my Reiki Master Teacher certification this November. Because when you share healing, you want it to come from a place of integrity and grounded resonance.
Curious to experience Reiki firsthand or dive deeper into it yourself?
Kevin Lewis — my teacher, mentor, and Reiki Master — is offering Reiki Level One and Beyond virtually this fall (October 18–19). If you're feeling that nudge, I can’t recommend him highly enough. You can Check It Out Here if you want space, support, and real transformation.

Healing doesn’t have to be dramatic to be real. Sometimes, it’s a subtle hum. A gentle touch. A soft invitation. Sometimes—all you need is Reiki. Thank you for sitting with me this week. See you in the next Transmission. You bring the tea — I’ll bring my truth.

About Tracie I’ve walked through fire—twice with cancer, once in a coma—and I came out the other side with a paintbrush in one hand and soul codes in the other. I’m an artist, healer, and intuitive entrepreneur living on the edge of the Pacific and the edge of awakening. I quietly stepped away from a 30-year career in corporate leadership because my soul got louder than my resume. Now, I create transmissions like this to share what I’ve learned—through past life work, energy healing, messy growth, deep magic, and everyday moments that break you open just enough to let the light in.
This isn’t about being perfect & polished. It’s about being present.
